FLAME TREATMENT
AN ECONOMICAL
AND FLEXIBLE SOLUTION
Simple to perform and cost-effective , flame treatment is the main traditional process used to increase wettability and burn off stubborn grease and grime while limiting the use of chemicals. For certain applications, flame treatment systems are the only possible surface treatment solutions. That’s why we offer flexible flame treatment systems (mixtures of gas/air, gas/oxygen or infrared gas burners).
Our totally secure and controlled solutions can be simple and manual, positioned in static or mobile versions. We can also design fully automated burner systems on robots controlled by existing automatons.
Our burners can range in size from a few millimetres to several metres, while being under control (by an electronic system) and normalised by European/US standards, etc. Various options allow you to specify and save the volume of combustion air/gas to ensure efficient control of both the flame and the current consumption!

RECOMMENDATIONS REGARDING FLAME SURFACE TREATMENT
Principle : the surface of a material – generally a polymer – is exposed to an oxidising flame. The treatment can be fine-tuned by adjusting certain settings, such as the distance between the sample and the base of the flame, the number of passages, the speed of the sample under the flame, the type of gas (air/propane or air/methane) and its temperature.
Use : highly effective for hydrocarbon polymers, such as polypropylene – one or two passages suffice to modify the surface reactivity.
Applications : degreasing and activation of metal parts before label gluing, printing or painting (automotive parts, construction, technical parts), etc.
